OVERVIEW

The export market is crucial to Sweden’s thriving outward-looking economy, and this was a unique opportunity for the export finance community in Sweden to come together under one roof to achieve the following:

  • Network between all parties across the ecosystem
  • Analysis of the ECA product over roundtable debate
  • Collaborative panel sessions which discussed core issues and regional opportunities
  • Increased awareness of where and how the ECA and its products align with national export promotion and governmental trade development plans
  • Identified key areas that could be improved to increase customer satisfaction and competitiveness

This primary half-day meeting served as the basis for an independent annual gathering which assesses if momentum on established issues is being achieved. As a working group, we identify and track key developments within the regional and global landscape, and contextualise the potential impacts of these on the Swedish export market.

WHO WILL BE THERE?

  • EKN & SEK
  • Large cap exporters
  • Mid cap exporters
  • Local and international banks
  • Law firms
  • Private market insurance underwriters & brokers
  • Swedish government
  • Swedish Trade Council

Agenda

9:30 am – Fika and networking

10:00 am – Introduction and plenary: given by Lena Sellgren, Chief Economist, Strategy and Business Development, Business Sweden

10:15 am - Roundtable 1

Value chain & local content

How does the ECA support the early stage of the bidding process and how can this be improved.

How to better support Swedish exporters in large projects with multiple suppliers and a lack of clarity on who the co-coordinator is.

Working with local content rules to make sure Swedish interests are supported when dealing with multinational organisations with global manufacturing bases.

Ensuring clarity on mandate when structuring and contracts are arranged.

11:15 am - Networking fika

11:45 am – Roundtable 2: 4 tables, 2 streams:

Forward Thinking: Digitalisation

With the increased adoption of digitalisation how do banks, exporters and ECAs align their interests to ensure interoperability?

Which platforms are preferred by each actor and how can these systems be effectively managed to work efficiently together?

The perfect platform in an ideal world- what features and packages would the perfect system have?

KYC and Sustainability

How can banks be incentivised to take on new clients while meeting KYC regulations?

Sustainability and ethical considerations within transactions are a cornerstone of the Swedish system, how can we work to ensure that environmental, social and human rights standards are upheld?

12:45 pm- Closing remarks

All participants will be provided with typed up notes summarising the groups findings at a later date.
