Lower feedstock prices: mixed bag for petchem project finance

For embattled oil majors, petrochemicals constitute something of a bright spot for their operations. For national oil companies, value-added products like ethylene and its derivatives, plastics and fertiliser, represent a chance to reduce their dependence on crude and natural gas exports, and develop domestic industrial capacity.
