Earlier this month, the European Banking Authority (EBA) released its report on the leverage ratio requirements under article 511 of the CRR. The report asserts that ECA risk is lower than other trade finance risk and as such, the EBA should leave open the possibility of more favourable treatment of ECAs under the leverage ratio.
