SMEs and export finance: New TXF podcast released

Region:
Middle East & Africa, Europe
In the most recent offering from TXF’s podders, the team discuss the benefits and challenges small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) currently face in tapping the export finance market.

TXF’s new export finance podcast is back. For this episode, regular contributors Deutsche Bank’s global coordinator and head of export finance EMEA, Simon Sayer, TD securities head of structured export finance EMEA, Simon Jones, and GKB Venture’s Gabby Buck are joined by Santander’s head of international corporates, Mark Ling, and Equant Analytics’ Rebecca Harding. The SME-focused podcast discusses questions including:

  • Do SMEs know about export finance? Why would they use it? What is the biggest block?
  • Is engagement with SMEs buyer or supplier driven?
  • How important will it be for banks and ECAs to show they support SMEs? Is it really on the radar?
  • How can the whole export finance process be made easier for small deals and SMEs?
  • Who are the agencies making most headwind on this?
  • Where do the banks fit? Educator / arranger / out of the picture?
